I often say that I’m so grateful to my clients because they allow me to do what I love. when I announced that I was going away for a month, the outpouring of support and encouragement touched me deeply. I saved all the replies to my announcement because they expressed so genuine happiness for me. I know my clients are wonderful people. These replies reminded me that they see me more than a person behind a laptop, that they see me. And that can’t be taken for granted.

Honestly, I was nervous sending the email blast telling everyone that I would be away for so long. I expected a little panic, maybe I overestimated how worried they’d be at the idea. I did include that I would be reachable in case they needed to reach me. As unusual as it sounds there are “graphic design emergencies.” A website can go down—which did happen!!! Some clients had events that had to be posted and files that had to be uploaded. I did my best to reassure them that I was reachable. That I could still provide support.

The response exceed my expectations

In reality, didn’t have any reason to worry. Even the clients that had concerns were more than agreeable after I explained what I planned to do to make sure their events went as scheduled. The website to went down was a relatively easy fix.

It’s important to me that all my clients have the attention and service they deserve and expect from me. The fact that they reflected that back to me, that they understood and were happy for me… I was so grateful for that.

Unplugging and letting go

Many of my clients encouraged me to unplug completely. They said take this opportunity to recharge. How right they were. The were some times in 2022 that I needed to heal from. I cannot express how the time away helped bring me peace and restore my soul.

Thank all you that sent notes of encouragement and expressed joy for taking time away. Thank you to those that commented on my Instagram post. I am forever grateful!
