Personal photos makes a site uniquely you
Melisa was looking for a website and logo design when she contacted me. This was all new to her, therefore I gave her information on getting her new business online. The first steps include registering a domain name, setting up hosting and securing the site with a SSL certificate. Once those steps were completed, I started working on a logo design. Melisa provided a number of photos that she wanted to use on her website. One photo that was very important to her was one of a heart made with rocks on the shore. She wanted to incorporate it into a logo design. I thought it would make a great background image. I used a simple script font to stand against the background image. When Melisa asked for a business card layout, I suggested using a square card design. It not only worked perfectly with the logo shape, it also makes her card stand out. The final logo could be used with or without the background image.
Many of Melisa’s photos were of the water and shoreline. I used them to develop a complimentary color scheme for her website. I used many of her photos throughout the website. A few stock images were included to bring in more visual interest. White space was vital to frame the calm, open feel of the images. I often suggest that clients share their personal photos and favorite quotes. This helps make a connection with visitors to their site. Built with WordPress, the site includes a shopping cart feature to purchase sessions.
